We’re pleased to announce A Mistake Is A Beautiful Thing, newly released with LA-based Coloured Publishing. The book project brings together a personal collection of images taken by (and of) artist Devin Troy Strother and designer Yuri Ogita. The photographs offer a glimpse into the artists’ daily life — collages in progress, spilled paint, graffiti, bootleg tattoos, a horse, many dime bags — accompanied by short and often humorous captions. The work moves through a set of recurring motifs to build a nuanced dialog that examines art and its references, cultural phenomena, and the experience of being a person of color in the US.

A Mistake Is A Beautiful Thing is published by Printed Matter, with Coloured Publishing. It is printed in an edition of 500 copies, hardcover, with silver foil-stamping. It retails for $25.00 and it available for purchase here
