Former Coca-Cola sales rep turned photographer Nick Sansone is joined in conversation by former Budweiser sales rep turned Printed Matter Bookstore Manager Craig Mathis to discuss Sansone’s publication, Good Nature at Printed Matter Chelsea. Good Nature is a long term collaboration between Sansone and the employees of a bodega of the same name, which resulted in a photobook and short film.

Nick Sansone is a photographer and filmmaker based in Queens, NY. Sansone graduated from the International Center of Photography in 2019 with a One Year Certificate in Creative Practices. In 2020 Sansone co-founded ‘cademy, a publisher focusing on small editioned photobooks. He has had work exhibited in a variety of venues, such as The New York Times. Good Nature has been exhibited in group shows including A Group Show curated by Joe Miller at 28 Elizabeth Street in 2023 and Family Ties curated by Fernando Zelaya at the Bronx Brewery in 2023. Good Nature was published by ‘cademy in September 2024.

Craig Mathis is the Bookstore and Distribution Manager for Printed Matter, Inc. Founded in 1976, Printed Matter, Inc. is the world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination, understanding and appreciation of artists’ books and related publications. The shop currently stocks over 15,000 titles ranging from contemporary artists’ books, zines and multiples to many rare and out-of-print titles and ephemera. Prior to joining Printed Matter in the spring of 2017, he served as the Operations Manager at powerHouse Arena, a 10,000 sq ft bookstore, events space and gallery, located in DUMBO, Brooklyn from 2008-2017.
