A fan book parody, People Painting is an artists’ book composed of a collection of images found by famous people (from the 1920s to 2020) painting or posing in their studio.
These personalities are known for their activity in show business (cinema, music, sports, music hall, crowned heads) and practice painting as a hobby with more or less application and obstinacy. They like to let themselves be captured in this activity or to put themselves on stage, reproducing stereotyped postures of the figure of the artist. Postures in the sense of a way of occupying a position and adjusting one’s attitude to that position, taking into account the gaze of others. Having gained their fame in other fields of expression, these personalities have the opportunity to exhibit a new facet that refines, completes or upsets the image they want to give of themselves. To our great amusement, slight annoyance, sporadic delight or simple astonishment. -Publisher
