The publication compiles images, stills, fragments of the script and related texts that accompanied the creation process of the film “Diógenes” by director Leonardo Barbuy, filmed in the mountains of the community of Sarhua in Ayacucho.
Synopsis: In the Peruvian Andes, two brothers are raised in isolation by Diogenes, their father, a painter from Tablas de Sarhua. From time to time, Diogenes exchanges his paintings in the village for supplies, while his children wait for him, cared for by their dogs. One morning, Diogenes does not wake up. Sabina and Santiago live for three days with their father’s corpse, longing for him to stop sleeping. Confronting death and recognizing it will lead Sabina to go in search of her past and survival. -Publisher
