Scroll in a cardboard mailing tube stamped MARGINAL WORKS.
This b/w photoscroll is part of Clancy’s Marginal Works, a series of multimedia artworks from the 1970s – 1990s that include installations, performance and writing within the context of art, science, technology and critical theory. Clancy’s poetic image/text narrative is intercut with a commentary by Hollis Frampton that situates Clancy’s work within the context of postmodern art. Printed recto verso, two copies are included with each purchase for optional display, mounting or framing. Clancy’s photoscrolls and other works are referenced in Scott MacDonald’s book, Publication as Autobiography, October 2024, and in Lisa Zaher’s book, Patrick Clancy: Media Ecologies.
