The book is the culmination of the project Emotions Are Actions led by choreographer Bárbara Foulkes in Chihuahua, northern Mexico. This was a collaborative effort with a group of working-class women — primarily from the industrial sector. The first encounter was a nine-session lab taking place three times a month. That was the starting point: a dialogue and exchange of experiences, reflections, and movements that shaped up a performance presented to the public.
Ultimately, this months-long journey has turned into this book, featuring five collaborative texts by Dora Núñez, Elizabeth Rodríguez, Ibeth Morales, Mildred Guerra, Reyna Cabrera, Rita Ortíz, Sara Arballo e Irasema Valdéz (Xuxu); as well as two reflective texts shared by Bárbara Foulkes y Elia Araiza. Emotions Are Actions is the result of Proyecto Plexo’s Artistic Residency Program, which invites international artists to develop projects and foster dialogue in Chihuahua. -Publisher
